
The instant I understood my skin was changing still sticks with me.
It wasn’t a quick wrinkle that said “time is ticking.” It was more like to a photograph’s gradual fading. I lost my shine. My cosmetics no longer fit quite well. Things I once adored ceased to function. Though I looked after my skin but something seemed wrong which it quite a while to uncover.
Over ten years have been spent in skincare studying formulae, collaborating quietly with companies, and guiding consumers through their routines. Believe me, then: what really works is very different from what is promoted as “anti-aging.”

For me, this was the component that made my skin look awake. Even on the days I hardly slept or neglected to drink water, Vitamin C maintained my face looking vivid and alive.
Look for: L-Ascorbic Acid at 10–20% concentration in a dark or opaque bottle (light and air might damage it).
Use it first thing in the morning upon cleansing, before sunscreen and moisturizer.
3. Peptides

It supports collagen synthesis, balances oil production, strengthens your skin barrier, and lessens inflammation. It’s one of those uncommon components that works well for nearly all skin issues, aging included.
Adding niacinamide to my regimen helped my skin to be more durable. I started needing less foundation, my tone evened out, and my breakouts decreased. It’s a quiet performer restoring harmony to your skin.
Pro Tip: It goes well with other active ingredients including vitamin C or retinol. Target 5–10% in your item.
6.Sunscreen:

Indeed, It’s That Crucial
This is non-negotiable.
There is actually no skin without sunscreen. Everything else is essentially pointless if you don’t shield your skin from the sun. Even on overcast days, UV rays destroy elastin and collagen, causing early ageing, sunspots, and wrinkles.
I wear SPF 30+ every single day, even while I’m indoors (since UVA rays permeate windows). It’s the cheapest and most effective anti-aging product you’ll ever use.
Pro Tip: Choose a sunscreen you genuinely like using. It should feel good, mix easily, and complement your moisturizer or cosmetics.
Bonus: Bakuchiol A Natural Alternative
Bakuchiol could be your solution if your skin is extremely sensitive and retinol is intolerable. It’s a plant-based ingredient that offers similar anti-aging benefits like improved firmness, reduced fine lines, and better texture without the irritation.
It’s not as powerful as retinol, but it’s a great option for beginners or those who want a gentler routine.
How to Build an Anti-Aging Routine
You don’t need a 1step routine. You just need the right ingredients, used consistently. Here’s a sample routine I often recommend:
Morning Routine

- Vitamin C serum

- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen (SPF 30+)
